The Best Way to Get Rid of Acne For Good And Make Your Skin Glow Naturally
Today, I have awesome tips for the best way to get rid of acne and get your best skin. You can do something every day to help reduce acne and breakouts, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and give your skin a nice glow.
Most of the time, we read ridiculous claims on the internet that suggest you can get rid of acne fast or overnight, which is really misleading and inaccurate. I have discovered my battle with acne ended when I took small steps to improve the health of my skin.
All these actions eventually helped me get rid of acne and made a huge difference in the appearance of my skin.
Some of these tips are not rocket science and you would have no doubt heard of them, but all of them work in some way to get rid of acne.

Drink lemon water
Lemon water has a detoxifying effect on the skin, and you should notice clearer and brighter skin after about a week of drinking it.
I try to incorporate lemon water into my daily water intake though I have to admit I’m not very consistent. But when I do drink it, I notice my skin is clearer and brighter.
Tip* Make sure you don’t overdo it as lemon water has a tendency to cause tooth erosion.
To avoid tooth erosion, use a straw to drink your lemon water and rinse your mouth after consuming it.
Drink green tea
green tea offers the long-term benefits of preventing fine lines and wrinkles, saggy skin, age spots and sun damage. It has powerful properties which help fight free radicals and prevent sun damage. You will want to drink it on a regular!
I know this is an obvious step to getting healthy skin but I had to put it in here just in case. Water is hydrating to the body and it’s especially hydrating to our skin.
Try not to go without 6-8 glasses of water intake a day. If you’re not a big fan of guzzling water, try adding lemon, mint and cucumber, or even chopped strawberries to give it a little twist.
Eat for your skin
We all know the adage you are what you eat, and it couldn’t be more true for our skin. Choose the right food for your skin.
Consume healthy whole foods including avocado, nuts, salmon, dark green vegetables, and yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as sweet potatoes. I seriously notice a difference in the condition of my skin when I eat the right food.
The best way to get rid of acne is to start taking care of your body from the inside out.
Refine your skincare routine
Simplify your skincare routine
There’s no need for a ton of skin care products to properly care for your skin. The best thing I have ever done is to cut back on products (especially toxic ones). Keeping my skincare routine simple has helped me avoid using my skin as a guinea pig. Keep it simple by using a good natural cleanser, toner, moisturiser and exfoliating mask.
Use natural skin care products
Care for your skin with all-natural fragrance-free products and feel good about not sabotaging your skin with toxic chemicals.
Here is a list of my favourite natural facial care products that are free of toxins, fragrance and unwanted ingredients.
The other benefit of going simple and using natural products is that it gives your skin the best chance of not reacting to harsh chemicals.
Cleanse and moisturize the right way
Tip* When cleansing and moisturizing your skin, be sure to gently massage the product into all parts of your face and neck.
A massage is always a must when cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising as it helps promote circulation. Better circulation to your skin equals more nutrients to heal and repair the skin giving it a radiant glow.
Exfoliate at least once a week
It’s so important to exfoliate our skin to get rid of dead skin cells and reveal a clear glowing complexion. Use a gentle facial scrubbing device like this handheld facial brushto exfoliate your skin. It has different settings which make it suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin.
I exfoliate weekly and follow up with my favourite soothing face mask, The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask and it does wonders. Besides that, exfoliating the skin and using a face mask is super relaxing. The more relaxed and happy you are, the better your skin will look.
Cut back on makeup or go bare
Now, makeup is great but our skin needs a good break from it regularly. Going bare might not be so challenging if you couldn’t care less about makeup normally. But if you’re usually a full set of makeup kind of girl, try using a bit of mascara, a little concealer, and lip balm or lipstick.
I find that just having lash extensions and a good lipstick or balm instantly makes me feel better without having to put anything on my skin.

Besides being all natural and non-toxic, these products haven’t had caused me skin reactions or dry skin.
Exercise is the best way to increase blood circulation to your skin for healing and repair. It also helps release toxins from your body.
You don’t have to be a fitness freak to get a good workout. Work up a sweat doing something you love. Dance, Zumba, go for a run, join a fitness group class, anything that will get you moving.
Smile (and laugh) more often
Being truly happy releases all sorts of feel-good hormones that are good for your skin. Have you checked out these awesome TED talks on happiness? They’re light-hearted and funny and will inspire you to find happiness at whatever point you may be in your life.
When it comes to keeping your skin in the best condition possible, there’s nothing like sleep to rejuvenate and repair it. No expensive skin or beauty product will compare to getting enough Z’s.
How easy is it to get carried away doing everything else we need to do so that sleep comes last on the list? Not only should you attempt to sleep at least 7 hours a night but also ensure you have quality sleep.
Simple tips to get you sleeping faster and hopefully having better quality sleep:
Adjust your lighting
Dim your lighting a couple of hours before bed whether that be by using candles or a lamp. It helps to get you ready to slide into sleep mode faster.
Cut back on using electronics
Do this at least an hour before bed. Cutting out all electronic devices is probably the hardest thing to do for most of us. But it’s amazing how much of a difference it makes to our ability to fall asleep quicker. I know I sometimes can’t sleep if I start using my phone just before bed even if I had been ready to sleep earlier.
A light dinner especially a few hours before bed is better than stuffing yourself just before bed. If you don’t get reflux, you’ll just be uncomfortable, to say the least.
Do something you enjoy
This might seem unrelated to skin care but doing something you enjoy makes you feel good about yourself. It’s the fact that you’re taking time out to take care of yourself be it mentally, emotionally, physically or socially.
It’s no secret that stress is never good for your body especially your skin. Take time out to de-stress by doing something you enjoy.

They are so simple and easy to do (even for busy people), but the benefits are huge for your health and of course, your skin.
Wash your sheets & facial towel more often
Your sheets and pillow case can harbour contaminants after a few uses. Change your facial towel, sheets and pillow case at least once a week to avoid contaminating your skin. I do this twice a week. I have noticed less breakouts as a result. Besides, using fresh sheets and towels more often makes me happy. What can I say, it’s the little things!
Clean your makeup brushes once a month
To avoid contamination and breakouts, clean your makeup brushes at least once a month.

Increase your collagen intake
As we age, collagen declines causing our skin to be more susceptible to wrinkles and sagging. Getting more of this protein through dietary intake is an amazing way to boost the quality of your skin.
One great way to get your share of collagen is through food such as bone broth (if you like it). Bone broth is one of the best sources of collagen. Slow cooking beef bones will provide you with heaps of collagen naturally. Here is a great recipe!
If you’re not into bone broth or just don’t want to go through the hassle of making it, taking a dose of collagen powder is just as effective.
When taking any form collagen supplement, quality is important to get all the beautifying benefits for your skin.
